SYMBOLIC MEANING OF THE CAT WORD IN THE RUSSIAN AND CHINESE LANGUAGES (ON THE EXAMPLE OF IDIOMS, PROVERBS AND SAYINGS)

Abstract

This paper analyzes the word cat in Russian and Chinese idioms, proverbs, and sayings, in order to find the similarities and differences of its symbolic meanings in the two cultures. Through a comparative analysis, it would help deepen the understanding of the two languages and cultures.
