The paper presented an analysis of the results of sociological studies of social and cultural portrait of the Perm region that had been conducted in 2006 and 2011. Data of sociological surveys were been compared with the statistical information about the scientific research and innovation. The character of changes in innovation and economic activity in the region, their quantitative and qualitative parameters have been determined.References
