Моделирование инфекционного процесса у личинок Galleria mellonella для оценки антибактериального действия катионных пептидных соединений в условиях in vivo

С использованием личинок большой восковой моли Galleria mellonella проведена сравнительная оценка вирулентности штаммов Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, E. coli M-17, Pseudomonas fluorescens ATCC 948, Bacillus subtilis ATCC 6633, Listeria innocua M-2 и Listeria welshimeri Bel-19. Установлено, что все исследованные штаммы бактерий способны вызывать инфекционный процесс c изменением общего состояния личинок (меланизация, снижение подвижности, формирования коконов и гибель). Кроме того, выживаемость личинок понижалась с увеличением инфекционной дозы и зависела от массы личинки. Сравнительный анализ антибактериального действия катионных пептидных соединений (колистина и протамина) в условиях модельного организма показал, что колистин способствовал выживаемости 100% личинок, инфицированных E. coli ATCC 25922, а использование протамина увеличивало выживаемость личинок восковой моли после инфицирования B. subtilis ATCC 6633 и L. innocua M-2. Таким образом, личинки G. mellonella могут применяться как простая и экономичная модель для создания бактериального инфекционного процесса с последующей оценкой чувствительности бактерий к катионным пептидам в условиях in vivo.Библиографические ссылки
