Abstract

The article analyzes the terms the funeral-commemorative Komi-Permyk ritualism borrowed from the Russian language. Thematic groups of borrowings, some character of formal, semantic and functional changes of the borrowed terms, their figurative meaning and motivation are discussed. A conclusion about active parallel usage of original and foreign language forms is made; the fact is, firstly, explained by the natural bilingualism of language users, and, secondly, by the close interrelation of the language and cultural aspects of the funeral-commemorative tradition. A hypothesis about the coexistence in the mind of the Komi-Permyak culture-bearers of different linguistic views of the world reflecting some ideas about death is made.
