Abstract

There are several major theoretical approaches to empirical studies of populism in political science. This review deals with the book The Global Rise of Populism. Performance, Political Style and Representation by Benjamin Moffitt, dedicated to a new theoretical approach to populism as mediated performative practice. The book offers a new perspective on populism studies having its roots in the works of Ernesto Laclau. It can be useful both as an introduction into populism studies and as a book for the researchers who have populism as their main field of interest.DOI: 10.17072/2218-1067-2019-4-122-126
