Regime Changes of Post-Soviet States of Central Asia and Caucasus

Abstract

This article proposes a typology of political regimes, which allows fixing all points of regime transition of post-Soviet countries and measuring the regime dynamics of eight post-Soviet states of Central Asia and the Caucasus. The analysis of post- Soviet political transformations revealed the presence of two major sustainability regime forms (neopatrimonial authoritarianism and neopatrimonial polyarchy), which are analyzed for the cases of modal.
