Value orientations in contemporary russian society and the problem of democracy institutions’ quality (case study of Perm krai)

The article considers value orientations characteristic of today’s Russian society in the context of their possible influence on democracy political institutions’ quality. On the basis of Sh. Schwartz’s methodology, the values dominating among Perm citizens were revealed and compared with the Russian national average. The authors conclude that Perm citizens tend to have conservative and collectivist values, the same way as Russians on the whole.
