About the Journal
The journal "New Ideas in Philosophy" has been published since 2014 and is the ideological successor of three series of interuniversity thematic collections of scientific articles, published by the Philosophy Department of Perm State Research University (PSNRU) since 1967.
The first series of these collections, "The Philosophy of Frontier Problems of Science" (1967-1975), was devoted to the development of philosophical concepts for solving border problems of philosophy and particular fundamental sciences.
In the second series of collections - "Fundamental Problems of Philosophy" (1977-1991) the results of research on modern interpretation of matter, development, consciousness, man, on building up the system of categories, on elaborating the concept of a united natural world process, on determining the essence of particular forms of matter and development (movement), on problems of correlation of social and biological, social biology, etc. were published.
The third series of collections under the conventional title "New Ideas in Philosophy" (1992-2013) contained the results of the development of the newest form of materialism and dialectics (modern form of scientific philosophy), which in the 1990s was called concretely-general theory of materialism and dialectics. The concretely-universal theory describes both the general and in concise generalized form the whole diversity of the particular and the singular in the world and historical process, in contrast to the previous - abstract-universal theory, which was limited to the description of the general. The publications of the last series of thematic collections present an extremely broad field of research in the fields of ontology and theory of knowledge, social philosophy, philosophy of economics, philosophy of history, anthropology, and history of philosophy.
A great contribution to the development of the mentioned problems has been made by Dr. V. V. Orlov, Ph. A great contribution to the development of the mentioned problems was made by professor V. A. Orlov and his students. They formed the ideological originality of modern philosophical materialism's interpretations, which are reflected in the pages of thematic collections and our journal.
Inheriting the ideological potential of PNNU Philosophy Department and following the formula that modern materialism should be open to all the most important achievements of world philosophical thought, the editors of "New Ideas in Philosophy" invite for cooperation (including as members of editorial board and editorial council) and publication the authors interested and occupied with various problems in the field of ontology and gnoseology, social philosophy (including philosophy of economy, politics, law, culture, religion, logic, ethics and esthetics), history of Philosophy. The editorial board upholds the universal criterion of selecting papers: relevance, novelty, scholarship, substantiality, theoretical and methodological depth of the contributions.
Priority attention of the editorial board of the journal is given to the articles devoted to modern versions of materialism and currents ideologically close to it, to the substantial synthesis of modern materialism and alternative forms of philosophical thought, to constructive criticism of dialectical and historical materialism both classical and modern.
Scientists, university professors, students, graduate and postgraduate students are invited for publication.
