Abstract

Reformatsky Reagent, generated from methyl 2-bromo-2-methylpropanoate and zinc, adds to double carbon – nitrogen bonds of the Schiff bases based on benzidine and aromatic aldehydes with the formation as a result of intramolecular cyclization during the reaction corresponding bis(azetidinones).
