Scientific journal Bulletin of the Perm University. Chemistry publishes the results of original research and scientific reviews in the main areas of chemistry in Russian and English. Published materials, as well as materials submitted for publication in other journals, including those in other languages, are not accepted for consideration.
Articles that violate the rules or contain a large number of grammatical and spelling errors are returned to the authors without consideration on the merits.
All articles sent to the editors are subject to peer review. When submitting an article, please indicate three potential reviewers (last name, first name, patronymic, academic degree, academic title, e-mail). The final choice of reviewers remains with the editors. Recommended reviewers and the author of the article should not work in the same organization and have joint scientific papers. The issue of publishing an article, its rejection is decided by the editorial board of the journal, and its decision is final. The editorial board informs the author about the acceptance or rejection of the article by e-mail. After typing, the article is sent to the authors by e-mail for proofreading and must be sent to the editorial office within the period specified in the letter. In the author's proofreading, corrections of errors and minor changes in the text, tables and figure captions are allowed. In the event that the article is not returned after proofreading or there is no response from the author, the editors decide on the publication of the article on their own. After publication, the authors are sent an electronic copy of the article by e-mail. Table of contents of the journal issues, as well as published articles are posted on the journal website and the Elibrary.
Articles are submitted to the editorial office in electronic form through the journal's website or by e-mail chemvestnik@psu.ru or chemvestnik@yandex.ru. The following must be attached to the article: conclusion on the possibility of open publication (for russian authors); license agreement signed by all authors. A sample contract can be requested by e-mail chemvestnik@psu.ru or chemvestnik@yandex.ru. The article cannot be accepted for publication until the authors have submitted the specified documents.
Sending an article for revision and returning the corrected version is carried out by means of an electronic system or e-mail.
The manuscript must be typed on a computer in a Microsoft Office Word text editor. Page size - A4. Margins - 2 cm on all sides. The distance to the header and footer is 1.25 cm, the headers and footers must be empty. The interval before and after the paragraph is 0 pt. The main text of the article is typed in Times New Roman, font size - 11 pt, line spacing - one and a half. Word wrapping is automatic, words are separated by one space. Paragraph indentation - 0.5 cm. You should not use the Tab key to format text, the Enter key is used only to create a new paragraph.
When preparing a manuscript, it is desirable to use a style template, which is sent to the authors upon request by e-mail chemvestnik@psu.ru or chemvestnik@yandex.ru. When preparing an article, it is necessary to distinguish between hyphen (-) and dash (-), zero (0) and letter O, English letter l (L) and one (1). A dash is placed between the numbers without a break (spaces), for example: 12–15. A space is placed between the initials and the surname, the number and the dimension, except for degrees, percents and ppm, the sign of the number or paragraph and the number, in references to figures and tables (Fig. 1, Table 1). A space is not placed between quotation marks or brackets and the words enclosed in them, the number and the letter in the notation (Fig. 1a). A dot is placed after footnotes (including in tables), table notes, figure captions, abbreviations, except for subscripts corresponding to one word. Do not put a full stop: after UDC, article titles, tables and figures, authors' names, addresses, headings and subheadings, dimensions. Mixed use of Russian and Latin indices should be avoided. All abbreviations must be transcribed, with the exception of a small number of common ones.
The materials must use physical units and designations adopted in the International System of Units SI (GOST 9867-61), and the relative atomic masses of elements on the 12C scale. In the calculation work, it is necessary to indicate the programs used. When naming compounds, IUPAC terminology should be used.
Mathematical formulas are typed in the Microsoft Equation editor version 3.0 or lower. If the formula is typed on a separate line, then it is formatted in the center.
Formulas and schemes of chemical reactions are numbered only if they are mentioned in the text. Structural formulas of chemical compounds and schemes of chemical reactions must be made using the editor of chemical formulas ChemDraw.
Tables and figures are to be numbered if there is more than one. The text should contain links to all tables and figures. Duplication of data in tables, figures and text is unacceptable.
Tables should be designed using tabular markup, have serial numbers, headings, and inserted directly into the text of the article. Abbreviations, structural formulas and figures in tables are not allowed.
Figures must be made on a computer and inserted directly into the text of the article. Photos and raster graphics must be submitted in TIFF, JPEG or PNG format, vector graphics - in EPS format. The recommended resolution is at least 300 dpi. The use of imported objects from Microsoft Office Excel, SigmaPlot and other programs is not allowed. It is recommended that the size of the figure in the manuscript allows its reproduction without scaling 7.0–7.5 cm (one column) or 16–17 cm (two columns). If there are several parts of one illustration, they must be arranged sequentially and have a common caption. Drawings should not be grouped in any way within the file.
The journal is a black-and-white publication, so color drawings are not allowed. Uninformative drawings and photomicrographs that can be described in the text are not published. IR, NMR spectra and TG curves are published only when they are necessary to reveal structural features or behavior of compounds and mixtures. The number of figures and tables should correspond to the length of the manuscript.
In the process of reviewing and preparing the article for publication, the number of figures may be changed. Figure captions are typed in direct light font, size (font size) - 10 pt and formatted in the center. Inserting figures without figure captions is not allowed.
The first page of the manuscript is formatted as follows:
– Authors (initials before surnames), surnames of foreign authors are written in the original language, for languages with non-Latin script, English transcription is given.
– Full name of the institutions where the authors work. The traditional names of educational institutions and academic institutions are indicated without a form of affiliation. After the name of the organization, the city and country are indicated.
- Article title. The use of abbreviations, mathematical and special symbols in the name should be excluded.
– An abstract of 100–150 words should contain a concise description of the main results of the study and ways to achieve them, and the novelty of the study. Abbreviations and special characters are not allowed.
– Key words (from 3 to 6) characterizing the subject of the article and not repeating its title.
All of the above information is provided in Russian below.
The main content of the article is recommended to be systematized. It is recommended to use subheadings: Introduction, Theoretical analysis, Objects and methods, Experimental, Results and discussion, Conclusion. In accordance with the recommendations and standards of the International Committee on Publication Ethics (Committee on Publication Ethics), after the conclusion, the authors must insert the following phrases.
If the study was financially supported by any organization or sponsors, you must add the "Financing" section, where you must indicate the full name of the organization with the financial support of which the work was performed, and the number of the grant (agreement).
Information on assistance in the implementation of the study, including participation in the discussion, gratitude to colleagues, information on the use of unique equipment and equipment of collective use centers should be reflected under the heading "Acknowledgments".
The “Conflict of Interest” section is mandatory, where the authors declare the presence or absence of a conflict of interest in any area related to the topic of the article.
If the studies were conducted on animals or involving humans, then it is necessary to add the section “Compliance with ethical standards”, where you indicate: “All studies involving animals complied with the ethical standards of the institution, regulations of the Russian Federation and international organizations” or “All studies performed with the participation of people, comply with the ethical standards of the national research ethics committee and the 1964 Declaration of Helsinki and its subsequent amendments or comparable ethical standards. Informed consent was obtained from each of the participants included in the study.
After the References, information about the authors of the article is placed, containing the following data: Last name, First name, Patronymic, academic degree, academic title, position, place of work, address, contact phone number and (or) e-mail address in Russian and English.
In accordance with the requirements of the citation bases, at the end of the manuscript it is necessary to provide two lists - "Bibliographic List" and "References", which are located sequentially one after the other under the appropriate headings.
The recommended number of cited papers is at least 20. Be sure to cite literature published in the last ten years, and avoid excessive self-citation. The bibliographic list contains only published materials, including electronic editions. Links to dissertations and abstracts are not recommended, they should be replaced with published works of the author. Citing inaccessible sources, such as conference proceedings, deposited manuscripts, etc., should be avoided whenever possible. Sources in the bibliographic list are arranged in citation order, in the text of the manuscript the number of the source is indicated in square brackets, for example, [5], [5, 6], [7–10], [1, 3–5], [1, 3, four]. Sources in the bibliographic list are drawn up in accordance with GOST R 7.0.5–2008. References indicate the same sources as in the bibliographic list and are formatted in accordance with the Harvard standard. A detailed design template is available on the PSU website (psu.ru) in the section Science - Scientific journals - Methodological materials, as well as on the journal website (press.psu.ru) in the Submission of articles section.
When preparing References, the following rules should be taken into account:
– If the cited work is written in a language using the Roman alphabet (English, German, Italian, etc.), then the reference should be given in the original language. If the cited work is not written in Latin (Cyrillic, hieroglyphs, etc.), then it is necessary to provide an official translation or an independent translation (paraphrase) into English.
– If the cited work has an official English version of the title, then it should be indicated. If there is no official translation or it cannot be found, then it is necessary to provide an independent translation, in this case, first a paraphrase is given, and then a transliteration in square brackets.
– If the journal has an official English version of the name or a translated version, then it should be indicated. If there is no official translation, then it is necessary to provide a transliteration of the name. – When preparing a reference, the translation into English of the place of publication and the transliteration of the name of the publisher should be indicated.
– If the cited work is not in English, that is, a translation or transliteration of the title was required, then at the end of the reference it is necessary to indicate the source language identifier, for example (in Russian), (in German), etc.
– In all cases, it is recommended to use the BSI standard (British Standard Institute, UK) for transliteration.
