The paper analyzes the features of the functioning of the dominant party in Malaysia in the period of political transformation. We considered the specific features of the Malaysian political regime, characterized by the lack of competition and the presence of clientelism. The article notes that the institutional features and informal practices contribute to the stability of the political regime and the dominance of one actor in Malaysia. However, these features complicate the emergence of modern democratic institutions and the consolidation of democracy in MalaysiaDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17072/2218-1067-2015-1-84-92References
