The European Union’s global role: what and how can organizational theory explane

Abstract

The author evaluates the cognitive potential of organizational theory in the analysis of the global role of the European Union as essentially a normative power in world politics in the context of enlargement policy, European neighbourhood policy, inter- and trans-regionalism, development and cooperation policy, rule-making activity in the network of international institutions.
