Some Features of Political Consciousness of Provincial Students

Abstract

Basing on the data obtained during empirical sociological research, the authors of the article analyze some features of political and civil consciousness of students of the Kostroma region. Regarding political consciousness as a system which includes cognitive, emotional and activity levels, the authors focus attention on the study of its emotional components. It is connected with the fact that the political culture of provincial youth can be characterized as patriarchal, and its affective component often dominates and determines behavior. The main indicators of students’ politi-cal consciousness include the attitude of the respondents to events in Ukraine, as-sessment of the probability for the similar scenario in Russia and also the attitude to verbal attacks against the country leadersDOI: 10.17072/2218-1067-2016-1-97-106
