Abstract

The article deals with such scientific categories as youth extremism and radicalism; comparative analysis of scientific approaches is provided. Today, youth extremism holds a specific place among the global socio-political issues. There is a great danger of extremism, not only for our country but for the entire international community. Extremism causes significant harm to the processes of political socialization, has a considerably negative impact on a young person’s "sense of security", undermining the foundations of security and stability for society and the state. According to the author, the concept of radicalism is more acceptable for scientific works than the notion of extremism, since nowadays the notion of extremism is a tool for stigmatizing political opponents and an instrument of political struggleDOI: 10.17072/2218-1067-2016-2-107-119
