Abstract

The article considers the indirect effects of the World War II on the post-war processes of region formation in East Asia. The processes in East Asia are compared with those in Europe in terms of their motivation, mechanisms involved and inter-level distribution of contradictions. It is concluded that region formation processes in East Asia, unlike in Europe, proved incapable of peaceful transformation of contradictions inherited from the World War II, so the probability of a large military conflict in East Asia remains unchangedDOI: 10.17072/2218-1067-2016-3-120-135
