Political everyday routine of the cadet organizations in the Urals: elections to the State Duma of the Russian empire of the 3rd and 4th convocations

The article identifies and characterizes the political tactics of the Constitutional-Democratic party during the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Empire of the 3rd and 4th convocations through the example of the Ural organizations. Based on archival records and on the analysis of the Cadet regional periodicals of Perm and other county towns of the Urals, the paper reveals typical characteristics of those election campaigns, political and electoral tactics used by the party members, and the technologies of attraction and mobilization of the Cadet supporters and voters during the decline of revolutionary intensity in 1907-1912. The study shows that the Ural Cadets were tactically mobile during the elections to the 3rd and 4th State Dumas. In a complex political situation, they used specific progressive dem-ocratic “non-partisan” tactics in different human rights and other consulting organ-izations. The Ural Cadet periodicals played a specific organizational and political role in mobilizing their supporters and followers.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.17072/2218-1067-2017-4-156-168References
