The journal "Geography and Tourism" publishes scientific articles on tourism and recreational topics, primarily geographical in nature. This issue is consistent with its concept, but has some specific features. From July 25 to 31, 2018, the All-Russian scientific seminar "Tourism in the Depths of Russia" was held in Perm Krai. This was the fifth time the seminar was organized. It has become a recognizable scientific event among tourism professionals due to its unusual format: a combination of an active journey on rowboats with traditional conference formats – presentations and discussions. The seminar introduces Russian scientists to the historical, cultural, and natural sites of Perm Krai and positions the region as a tourist destination. The combination of a busy route and a conference allows participants to assess real tourist flows and see how the tourism industry operates during the peak season. Seminar participants have already visited the Usva River (2010), the Yayva River (2012), the Chusovaya River (2014), and the Koive (2016), Vishera (2018).This issue of the journal includes materials from a scientific seminar held in 2018. Participants included university professors and academic researchers, as well as business professionals and tourism industry workers from Moscow, Rostov-on-Don, Kirov, Krasnodar, Saransk, Saratov, Perm, Kungur, and Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.The articles examine issues of tourism theory and practice, tourism design, and trends in management, service, and excursions. The journal will be appreciated by those interested in tourism management in Russia and neighboring countries.
