INVESTMENT IMPACT ON THE SOCIOECONOMIC DYNAMICS OF PRIMORSKY KRAI MUNICIPALITIES

Abstract

The article deals with the dynamics of investment in fixed capital and the main socioeconomic indicators (industrial production, the number of employed, population, wages, incomes of individuals and individual entrepreneurs, commissioning of residential buildings) in the context of the municipalities of Primorsky Krai (region). The information base of the study is the Rosstat Database of Indicators for Municipalities for the period from the beginning of the 2010s to 2023. The methodological basis of the research is mathematical and statistical methods and comparative analysis. The study has found that investment projects had the greatest impact on industrial production and wage levels in all the territories, both in the municipalities with big cities and with small towns. At the same time, the impact on employment has been found to be smaller and short-term; in the case of municipalities with small towns, it can be observed only for Arsenyev and Bolshoi Kamen, a greater effect is observed for big cities of the region. Large-scale projects cannot change the situation with depopulation: there is an independent concentration of population in the most settled areas (big cities) with more comfortable living conditions (range of services offered, level of wages, etc.). The practical significance of the study lies in the statistical estimates of the investment impact on the development of small towns in the region against the
background of big ones. Further direction of research can be seen in analyzing the effects of investment on the development of small business in these territories
