Abstract

In this work, the modeling of a hypothetical oil spill in the Pechora Sea at the Varandey offloading terminal is presented. The simulation is conducted for a wind speed of 10 m/s, it is shown that this scenario is the most unfavorable. A map showing the zone of oil pollution after 1, 2 and 5 days since the accident is created. The paper provides the amount of oil stranded at different directions of the wind. A possible damage to conservation areas is analyzed.
