Abstract

The paper provides an overview of the dataset «Ground beetles (Coleoptera: Carabidae) of PSU’s Botanical  Garden (Perm, Russia)» published on GBIF, global biodiversity data aggregator. The dataset is the result of four years of monitoring (2021-2024) of the ground beetle fauna on the territory of the Botanical Garden of Perm State University – protected area integrated to the urban environment. The material was collected using pitfall traps at 11 open-air plots and 10 plots inside the greenhouse complex. The dataset includes 2316 occurrences of ground beetles, 9 752 individuals were  recorded representing 66 species from 25 genera. All records are respond to the Darwin Core data standard, «sampling event» type (contains information not only about the species composition, but also the dates of events, geographical coordinates, habitat characteristics, sample method, protocols and sampling effort). The dataset may be useful for future ecological studies, such as analysis of seasonal dynamics, distribution of ground beetles across different biotopes, and their response to human impact. The dataset can serve as a model for creating standardized datasets for other taxonomic groups and territories of the Perm Region.
