Abstract

We have experimentally investigated a flow caused by inhomogeneity of the conductivity field of a conducting liquid in an external magnetic field. Flows in two configurations are considered: with a co-directional flow of electric current and action of the external magnetic field and with their orthogonal orientation. The structure of a large-scale vortex flow and the dependence of the flow intensity on the magnitude of the force influence have been found.
