Abstract

In the paper, the advantages of differential scanning calorimetry are considered on the example of studying phase transitions in amorphous rapidly quenched alloys and in studying the decomposition of titanium hydride. Since most methods of structural studies are limited to the local area of the object under study, the method of differential scanning calorimetry allows us to estimate the processes occurring in the entire sample volume, and not only in one local area. This is especially important for understanding the patterns of structural phase transformations occurring in metals and alloys in a wide range of heating and cooling temperatures, almost in situ.
