Abstract

The article analyzes aspects of metafictional poetics in the novel «The disorder of your name» (1986) by the modern Spanish writer Juan José Millas. It is noted that the narrative is organized by two plot plans related to the image of the main character: the story of a romance and a love story. It is concluded that in the hero’s reasoning about the novel and about his own work, stereotypical attitudes of metafiction writing are revealed, through this technique of J.J. Millas, on the one hand, builds a list of metafiction cliches, on the other hand, represents the tradition of novelistic self-reflection.
