The article examines the stylization of the child narrator’s speech in the novels Night Rainbow by K. King (2013) and All the Lost Things by M. Sacks (2019), in which the narration is conducted by girls of 5 and 7 years old, respectively. Their speech is stylized as a child’s with the help of various linguistic means, including the use of glutton comparisons. According to the basis of comparison, they can be divided into thematic groups. These comparisons can be markers of the narrator’s age. The presence of comparisons and the relevance of the topic of food in real child’s speech makes it effective to use them for a plausible stylization of the child narrator’s speech.Downloads
