Abstract

The article examines the work of British writer Jonathan Coe as a form of cultural criticism of modern society. The author analyzes his works from the point of view of reflecting social and political transformations in the UK, examines the literary techniques used by the author to express his position. Special attention is paid to the novel Middle England,whichisnotjust a workoffiction,but is basedonrealandsignificanthistoricalevents of recentyears.
