АМЕРИКАНСКИЕ КОНСЕРВАТОРЫ И ИММИГРАЦИОННАЯ ПОЛИТИКА В ПЕРИОД ПРЕЗИДЕНСТВА ДЖ. У. БУША

Иммиграционная реформа в США является одной из самых острых тем, вносящих раскол в американское общество. Многочисленные попытки президентов и Конгресса реформировать данную сферу оканчивались либо неудачей, либо половинчатыми мерами, не устраивавшими как сторонников иммиграции, так и ее противников. В статье исследуется роль американских консерваторов по блокированию проведения либеральной иммиграционной реформы администрации Дж. У. Буша в 2006−2008 гг. Отмечается, что за очень короткий период времени представители различных течений консервативного движения США смогли консолидироваться на антииммигрантской платформе и использовать новые инструменты влияния − как в отношении конгрессменов, так и при формировании общественного мнения. Анализируется роль социальных сетей и такого нового явления в консервативном движении (название было предложено «Нью-Йорк Таймс»), как «Новый общенациональный избирательный интернет-округ», сумевшего очень быстро и эффективно сплотить противников «великой сделки» президента и разрушить единство проиммигрантски настроенной элиты. В статье подробно рассматриваются действия Дж. У. Буша по инициированию реформы и анализируется природа возникшего конфликта между консерваторами и президентом. В спорах все чаще звучат цивилизационные и этнокультурные аспекты, затрагиваются проблемы идентичности и государственности, что чревато еще большим расколом внутри консервативного движения. Анализ различных аспектов возникшего в 2006−2008 гг. политического конфликта между рестрикционистами и президентом позволяет лучше понять ситуацию внутри консервативного движения и перспективы его развития.Библиографические ссылки
