«E-BURG» BY ALEXEY IVANOV: SOME PROBLEMS OF GENIUS LOCI LOCALIZATION

Abstract

The article analysis of some creative strategies of the writer Alexei Ivanov who is positioned in the Urals as a new literary genius loci (after D.N. Mamin-Sibiryak and P.P. Bazhov). In 2012–2014 the writer has changed his local preferences from Perm to Ekaterinburg. Our focus is on the artistic and journalistic book «E-burg». The writer makes an attempt to update the image of the city and mythologeme «the Urals character». Alexei Ivanov in this book looks like a Ekaterinburg citizen who thinks about the place of his dwelling and self-perception. It corresponds to the spirit and character of the city populated by charismatic leaders who acts and creates.
