STUDY EXCURSIONS IN DIGORSKY RNO-ALANIA GORGE AND THEIR ROLE IN THE FORMATION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL STUDENT CULTURES

Abstract

The article deals with a study tour of students of the Department of Tourism of the Vladikavkaz Orderof Friendship of Peoples of the Polytechnic College (VODNPT), made in the Digor Gorge of North Ossetia,along the ecological path created in the National Park «Alania». Students had the opportunity to touch thewild nature of mountain Digoria, see unique landscapes, turbulent rivers, numerous waterfalls, rare and RedBook plants of Ossetia, study the historical and cultural heritage of ossetian mountaineers (ancient towers,koshars, old roads, stone fences). In preparation for the study tour, students of 2–3 courses collectedand studied geographical, historical material, got acquainted with the toponymy of natural objects, legendsand myths about the most interesting sights of Digoria. Armed with theoretical knowledge about theDigor Gorge, they went on an excursion to see, photograph, record and use the knowledge and impressionsgained when writing a report on the practice and an individual text of the guide on the routes to mountainDigoria. The educational excursion contributed to the development of environmental education and theimprovement of ecological culture in nature, careful attitude to it. Such trips by students and teachers ofthe technical school are made systematically to all the gorges of the republic. Students replenish the baggageof knowledge about the republic, learn to conduct excursions, collect material for writing theses andfuture work in the field of tourism.
