Abstract

The impressions of traveling in the Indian Himalayas — from the most northern province of Ladakhk in the state of Jammu and Kashmir, across the Kulu valley, where the house-museum of N.K. Roerich to the foothills of Civalik, with the holy city of Rishikesh — the world capital of yoga. Attention is paid to the geographical features of the travel region, and an assessment of natural, cultural and historical tourist resources is given. The issues of planning and organizing independent travel are considered.
