CONCEPT "CULTURE" IN LANGUAGE CONSCIOUSNESS OF BILINGUALS CHINESE

Abstract

The problem of interaction of language and culture has been addressed to linguistics for a long time, but has not been studied enough. In particular it is not clear how the process of language categorization is affected by proficiency in different languages of bilinguals. The article analyzes the structure of the semantic field «Culture» in language consciousness of bilinguals-Chinese. These problems are discussed on the basis of the material of the mental lexicon of bilinguals-Chinese in Russian and Chinese languages. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of groups of semantic fields showed that the most significant one for Chinese bilinguals is semantic group «art».
