The submitted text is dedicated to the twentieth anniversary of the Department for the Research of Political Institutions and Processes of the Perm Federal Research Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences – the first academic political science institution outside of Moscow. Data on the history of the Department's establishment are presented, as well as the characterisation of the main directions of scientific activity of its employees.References
