Abstract

The article analyzes the functions and role of photographs and the process of photographing in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s short story The Bridal Party. The author of the story focuses on the functions of photographs as a material connection to the past and as an emotional support for the protagonist. Particular attention is given to scenes of the process of photographing, which serve the following functions: recording significant events and the characters' emotional experiences, creating a festive atmosphere through lighting and displays, and highlighting the characters' social status.
