The Image of the Hero in Herbert Wells’ Novel The Bulpington of Blup

Abstract

The article analyses the exposition of the hero, the hero in the eyes of other characters, his inner and outer speech and his attitude to the war. It is shown that Balpington of Blup since childhood seeks to hide from reality, giving himself a fictitious name and being influenced by the culture of the late XIX century. The contrast with other characters and the war highlight the inner conflict of Bulpington of Blup.
