Time in “Winter” by Ali Smith

Abstract

The article analyses the representation of the theme of time in Ali Smith’s «Winter». The analysis concludes that time is the central category in the novel, serving as the basis and connector between a number of other elements of the novel’s poetics. Also, the realization of the theme in the novel is defined, to a certain extent, by the focalising character.
