Formation of fulgurites in regions of Russia and approaches to their classification

Abstract

Nearly a century ago, fulgurites entered the sphere of scientific interest of P. N. Chirvinsky, making him rightfully the first domestic researcher who studied
them in Russia. This article draws the attention of colleagues to the expediency and
benefit of classifying the mentioned natural phenomenon, taking into account its
peculiarities and specific forms of formation.
