Abstract

The article describes the occurrence of diverse microbiolites formed in the intertidal zone of a shallow freshwater basin of Middle Permian age. It is shown that variations in their morphology (boat-shaped, elliptical, and subspherical oncolites, dome-shaped and stratiform stromatolites) are due to variations in the thickness of the water layer and the shape of the seed (fragments of bacterial mats, rock fragments)
