Abstract

The main characteristics of volkonskoite and its host rocks are described using petrographic analysis of samples collected at the Samosadky deposit (Pakhomova Gora). The study of the mineral composition of volkonskoite at the micro level allows us to determine its textural features and, in particular, the transition zone – the selvedge boundary. Volkonskoite is a chromium-bearing dioctahedral smectite
