Abstract

The article discusses the characteristics of the karst process and how it manifests in contact zones with intrusive bodies. Using the Londok limestone deposit near Small Khingan as an example, it studies the mineralogical and chemical composition of the rocks in which karst manifestations are found. A detailed analysis of archival materials was conducted. The rocks are characterised by a high calcite content and the presence of quartz impurities, which indicates weathering. It was concluded that the modern karst process in this area is passive. Buried forms such as funnels, cavities and caverns are widely developed; these are mainly relics of ancient karst formations formed in pure carbonates under different climatic conditions
