Abstract

The global changes that have occurred in all the world's languages in recent decades, related to the economic, social and cultural development of the native-speaking peoples, have led to the filling of vocabulary with words of strange sounding, unclear meaning, and used by people of different ages and social groups virtually without any meaning and completely out of place. These words resounded everywhere: on TV screens, on the radio, they filled literary works, newspapers and magazines, flooded the speech of politicians and civil servants, giving them a peculiar flavor, expression and stylistic coloring. We are talking about sub-standard vocabulary that is outside the standard, literary language, vocabulary that has its own laws and rules of development, a long history of registration and description and, undoubtedly, deserves (no less than a literary language) careful consideration and detailed study. The semantic field «Family» is the most fully represented in both the standard and sub-standard lexical layers, and contains a significant set of sublevel fields, one of which is the «Relatives» field. It is the system of kinship relations transmitted by the generic vocabulary that makes it possible to trace the identity of the people. The native speaker of the studied language presents a linguistic picture of the world, makes it possible to form the concept of a family in a particular language. Kinship terms mark the features of the social organization of a particular society, being the guidelines of social behavior. Finally, kinship terms have both universal semantic features and ethnocultural specificity, which is why kinship term systems are especially colorful and deserve separate study on the basis of substandard vocabulary. The article presents the results of the analysis of the «Internet dictionary of slang and jargon «Slanger» in order to identify sub-standard lexical units related to kinship terms in it.
