THE PRACTICAL WAYS OF DEVELOPING STUDENTS' FOREIGN LANGUAGE COMMUNICATIVE COMPETENCE AT THE NON-LINGUISTIC FACULTIES OF THE UNIVERSITY

The article is devoted to the issues of formation of students' foreign language communicative competence at the non-linguistic faculties of Perm University. The formation of communicative competence involves the mastery of foreign language communication by means of a foreign language and their use in speech activity. The most important indicators of a communicative mature personality are identified: the need to communicate with other people, the ability to actively participate in the life of society and to constructively solve various life problems. The importance of early recognition and overcoming barriers in communication is shown. The main barriers to communication are emotional, cognitive, and motivational. Recognition of barriers in the early stages of learning affects the success of teaching oral foreign language. Even with a partial solution of this problem, it is possible to significantly increase the level of students' language competence. Such methods and technologies of developing students' communicative competence as language and role-playing games, project activities, the development of critical thinking through reading and writing, the method of debate, case study, the technology of interactive learning in pairs and small groups, Internet technologies and others are actively used. Positive experience of their application has been accumulated, techniques and approaches are constantly being improved, the students' feedback is provided. The use of role-playing games and problem situations in the educational process is aimed at activating previously studied vocabulary and their subsequent use in creative situations of communication. The use of the latest information technologies increases the students' motivation and cognitive activity, helps to overcome the psychological barrier in communicating in a foreign language.Downloads
