Abstract

The paper represents the results of the empirical study of cyber-addiction image of users with deviant behaviour tendencies. The psychometric data obtained from female students while testing them with a set of psychological measurements and instruments allow the researchers to distinguish two types of internet-users — those who demonstrate a tendency to divergent behaviour of various types and more normative individuals. Both similarities and distinctions of the cyber-addiction images in the two samples were described and analyzed using semantic differential technique. It is discovered that less normative users even though they do not behave deviantly at the moment show more neutral attitude towards the phenomenon of cyber-addiction.
