Abstract

Research methods of implicit social cognition are reviewed. A conceptual heterogeneity in empirical development of the problem is shown. We hypothesize the joint contribution of implicit and explicit traits to varianceof behavioral data. Contemporary dimensions of implicit personality traits assessed by reaction times and theirconnections with explicit personality scales assessed by self-reports are marked. The problem of implicitexplicit measurements of personality is defined and several hypotheses are offered for further empirical research.
