Abstract

The article examines the play Yalta 45 by Swedish playwright Lukas Svensson and two performances based on it in the light of the ambivalence of postmodern irony in drama. More attention is paid to the analysis of techniques for creating irony in the play by GAMT directed by A. Zhitinkin The Big Three (Yalta 45) translated by A. Nordstrem. Postmodern irony is considered in it as the simultaneous destruction of reality and the creation of a new one, in the simultaneous reduction and elevation of images, in caricature and lyricization, in involving the viewer in the historical process at the level of moral reflection.
