Abstract

The article analyzes the process of transformation of the classical narrative model “about the lost worlds” in the short novel of I.S. Lukash “The Green Island”. Against the background of the general principles of the narrative “about the lost worlds” – the image of the “lost world” as an inaccessible and closed space from people, opposed to the rest of the world; the presence of heroes-travelers discovering the “lost land”; the presence of fantastic elements in the narrative, the features of the topos of the “lost world” in the work of I.S. Lukash are revealed. The specific features of the story include: a combination of elements of science fiction and adventurous philosophical narrative, the presence of elements of poetics of romanticism, the disclosure of the psychology of the characters through their interaction with the space of the “Green Island”. Conclusions are drawn about the philosophical content of the plot of the hero’s journey to the “lost world”.
