Abstract

The article continues a number of works based on the material of zoonyms functioning in the speech of residents of the Troelzhansky rural settlement of the Kungursky district of Perm Krai. The names of dogs in the motivational aspect are considered. Detected that as in the case of felinonyms, cynonyms, through numerous motivational models, transmitinformation mainly about the external and behavioral characteristics of animals; lexical motivators tend to two main thematic groups: “Human” and “Animals”. The conclusion is made about the universality of the principles of nomination and motivational connections in the names of pets, about the tendency to individualization of cynonyms and anthropomorphization of pets.
