THE TRANSLATION OF THE CONCEPT MEMORIA IN THE THEATRICAL TEXT

Abstract

The article analyzes the translation features of the concept MEMORIA actualized in the Spanish scientific article of the theatrical subject during translating into Russian. The study of the concept within the cognitive-discursive approach allows creating text by correlating the representations of the concept in Spanish and Russian and presenting it in the frame. The research is relevant due to the importance of the concept MEMORIA for the theater. Memory as a human ability leads to the world knowledge, as well as an essential part of any artistic activity. Furthermore the translation of a scientific article that is aimed at the correct transfer of the scientific building, may be of needed both for linguists, theater researchers , theater critics and for teachers of theater institutes because of little previous studies of the concept MEMORIA. The article presents the results of the component analysis of the lexeme MEMORIA, during which the minimum components of the lexeme meaning were identified. Moreover, the cognitive-discursive analysis allows finding the key meanings of the article, conceptualize and categorize verbal representatives in the original language, which forms the basis for translation. In conclusion, the main problems of the scientific text were considered, translation difficulties were identified and substantiated, such as the correct transfer of scientific knowledge in a translated text, the intertextual nature of the original text, conceptual and terminological consistency, etc. The most representative examples of translation reflecting the features of the concept MEMORIA were represented.
